From an idea to your own company

That is how you could describe the foundation of the Schmack Motorsport team. The passionate racing driver Manfred Schmack had to retire as an active driver from his beloved rally scene but still he wanted to abide by it as an entrepreneur: This is considered the birth of the Schmack Motorsport business idea.

Schmack himself was the best advertising medium for his project: Already in the 90ies, he participated successfully on several German national race tracks with Honda Civics either supported or mobilized by himself. Shortly afterwards, the request for vehicles increased remarkably due to his very successful results in the cars resembling the Honda series model. This way, he created a base for his business idea of an own car rental for participation in rallies and races.

Very soon, this idea inspired some mechanics in his parents’ “Auto forum Schmack” and gained a reliable crew of mechanics to support him.

Professionalism and stability as the key to success

At the beginning, the team had to get along with a small budget under the cover of the car dealerships Schmack, but soon they started to become more experienced, improved their skills and their continuously good results, stable techniques and a resulting series of success achieved by its drivers led to a respectable reputation.

In 2002, the team, presenting itself as an independent enterprise, and its work was rewarded for the first time with a victory at the German Rally Championship. The good image had been established and even went abroad: Schmack Motorsport prepared and serviced guest teams in Germany during every event.

During the last six years, the successful cooperation with Schmack Motorsport enabled several German rally drivers to get established in Germany’s top divisions. This development culminated in the participation of the Citroen C2 R2 MAX opening a new “era” in the Plauen-based team.

Extended field of application and participation

For two years, our team’s participation in races abroad in the rally sports department has been constantly increasing. In cooperation with the drivers, we have taken part in several rallies in Austria and Poland and the positive trend seems to continue.

In the season 2008, Schmack Motorsport has been involved with seven Group N vehicles in national and international events, the biggest vehicle fleet in the company’s history up to now.

Enlargened portfolio

In 2002, the support of a team of drivers in the long distance cup has formed another task area for the team. The Schmack Motorsport team has lived up to its competent, reliable and loyal reputation also concerning circuit sports and showed off toughness and high reliability under extreme conditions when supporting the Australian quartet of drivers at the 24-hours-race at the Nürburg circuit.
