The second day of the rally wasn’t better than the first one even if the car runs unfailing. Tomasz felt the hole day quiet unwell and sick. Anyway the crew defended the placement and finished the rally just like the first day on fourth place of the Racing Trophy.

“It was not such a good performance of our car as we expected. But the team never gave up and resolved the problems as good and fast as it was possible.Unfortunately we catch a penalty of twenty seconds after a late check in at a time control. When we look at all what happened during this weekend we have to be statisfied with the result.” explains team owner Manfred Schmack.

The Rally Poland was the next event of the Citroen racing trophy and even the next event of our team. After an accident on the first stage of the rally the crew retired again. After the mechanix fixed the damages Tomasz Gryc and Krzystof Zubik does the restart at the day two of the gravel-event. But they didn’t reach the finish again after the second accident and a damage of the cooler.

So we look forward hopefully for the upcoming event, the Rally Bohemia.

The first event of the polish Citroen Racing Trophy during the rally Elmot was the first step of our team-driver in Poland Tomasz Gryc and his co driver Krzysztof Zubik in this season, too.

During the shakedown they checked out the Citroen C2 R2 Max of Schmack Motorsport which they drove almost successfully the last year. After a revision and under completely new conditions went the car very well and the two drivers started happy to the Leg 1 of the tarmac-rally. The first stage finished the crew with the fastest time in the trophy competition and Tomasz pushed further that way. A little too much of pushing and the crew went nearly an accident during the follow stages. The second round of the leg the crew taken no more risks and crossed the finish ramp seventh on the daily results.

From the start of Leg 2 the crew became confidentially in the car and started up to catch the missed seconds of the first day. After a fabulous race with stage times between second and fourth place of the trophy, Tomasz and Krzysztof finished second of the day. Overall they climbed up to position four in the standings of the Citroen Racing Trophy.

“Congratulations to them! They did a great job and we’re pleasant to give them a hand. The car has run faultlessly and we hope Tomasz is satisfied with our work, too. We are glad to be here and looking  forward to the upcoming event,” reports Felix Herbold, the head of engineering after the Rajd Elmot.

Schmack-Motorsport driver Felix Herbold finished the last rally in the season of the German rally championship at third in class and twentieth overall. After a retirement because of a broken driveshaft on first day he restarted at second day with a two minute penalty. With his codriver Johny Blom he started a fabulous fight and climbed back to the top twenty overall. The crew gets five fastest times in the six stages remain and finished as third in class.

After this the Team gets third place in German rally championship overall and wins the class of the R2 category, too. After the fifth place overall in the last year the team gets the best front-wheel-drive position overall again this year.

“I’m really happy about this result. It was a great season where I’ve learned a lot about the Citroen C2 R2 max. It’s amazing what you can to with this car and we tried always to come closer to the limit. Now it seems we’ve done everything right and I hope to get another season in the team.” says Felix after the finish.

During the polish Citroen Racing Trophy the Schmack-Motorsport team travelled once again abroad. Tomasz Gryc and his Codriver Krzysztof Zubik started at the rally Dolnoslaski with the Citroen C2 R2 Max of the team.

After the shakedown at Thursday t eh crew felled quiet comfortable with the conditions and the car. So the first stages of the Leg on Friday the performance were satisfied at all. Due some tricky tyre decisions and the real good feeling on the stages the crew climbed up to second place in Group while some other competitors in Citroen Racing Trophy suffered in little technical problems and punctures. After a hard fight throughout the day this position even was the result after Leg one and the crew gets important points for the championship.

In Leg two the weather conditions went from dry to wet and the comfortable feeling of the first day was gone. The following stages weren’t good at all and Gryc/Zubik lost nearly thirty seconds in the difficult stages. Almost some changes of the setup couldn’t get the team back on the road to the top and after a little accident and another puncture the crew penalised with 20 seconds. So they lost the third place in the group R2B and finished as fourth in day and fifth overall in Citroen Racing Trophy.

Not really sad about the result and quiet happy with the good work of the Schmack-Motorsport team Tomasz Gryc looks forward to the Warsaw rallysprint at December 5th.

The special stages located in the centre of Warsaw and the organizer awaits more than ten thousand spectators. So don’t miss this event and look for Tomasz and Schmack-Motorsport!

No luck for Tomasz Gryc and Codriver Krzysztof Zubik at Rally Orlen. Even after the first stage the rear axle had to be repaired after a little accident. The day was not the best at all,but the crew tried to hold on to the Top. The day two should be better and a second place in class at stage one of the day let the team look hopefully forward and the crew was quiet happy with the conditions.

But than in stage nine the touch-down after a huge jump damaged the front of the Citroen C2 R2 and the crew retires due a radiator-damage. After taking the Superally-system Gryc/Zubik finished the rallye on fifth position in class R2B and on place twenty-two overall.

After weeks of successfully work the mechanics of our Team set the build up of the new Honda Civic R3 to an end. The chassis delivered by JAS-Motorsport from Italy and all the followed works where done in the workshop of Schmack-Motorsport in Plauen. All parts are equal to the R3-specification except the gearbox: “There’s no sequential unit doing its work at the moment, but if the driver requires one, they will get one.” offers team owner Manfred Schmack.

The next step to competition is a day of Testing during the next weeks to check out the Setup and make sure that there’s no more failure in the system. After this the team looks hopeful forward to the first competition at the end of August.

After a famous start at the first day of the rally Rzeszowski our driver Tomas Gryc and his co driver Krysztof Zubik leaded with two seconds in front of team Dobrowolski as fifteenth overall the field of the Citroen Racing Trophy.

But than in stage four a communication failure between the two turns the results around. In a very fast corner the Citroen went off the road and hits into a ditch. A damaged front and the worst case at this day, a broken radiator let the team quit after that stage. After four hours through the night the mechanics repaired the biggest part of damages and Tomasz and Krysztof started again to day two with the Superally regulation. Like the slogan “A new day offers new luck” they let the accident of day one behind and pushed again. After a controlled drive through day two the team finished as fourth in class R2B and seventeenth overall.The overall classification of day one and two looks even not so satisfying:Position six in class and twenty-sixth overall.

“For sure we are not really happy with the result, but it could be worse than that. Fortunately nobody’s injured and Tomasz gets the stage times of the leading teams again in day two. Next week we check out the whole car and looking hopefully forward.” commented Manfred Schmack.

Great victory for Tomasz Gryc and his codriver Krzystof Zubik at the 24. RAJD KARKONOSKI. After two days without any technical problems and a never ending weather discussion the first victory ever in polish Citroen Racing Trophy for the Team Schmack-Motorsport was celebrated.

Manfred Schmack: “We always waited for the rain, while huge clouds came over the stages, but in the end there was just a little dampness on some places. With a little luck and a good feeling for the car at this conditions Tomasz was able to take the lead in day two and managed to stay in front until the end of the rally. Beside the rally work we again had a lot of fun in Poland and I think we come back for more!”

Gryc/Zubik ether climb up the result lists in day one where the team finished second in class and fifteenth overall. After a mechanical breakdown of the leader Tomasz Porebski in day two the way to the top was open and the crew concentrated themselves to hold the lead until the finish. In the final classification Tomasz Gryc and Krzystof Zubik finished in thirteenth position overall and third position in group A within less than 1.2 seconds behind the second!
